Sentinel Peak is located near Johnsondale, California. It is a popular with Boy Scouts visiting Camp Whitsett, with several hundred scouts hiking the mountain each week in the summer.[citation needed] It is in Giant Sequoia National Monument and Sequoia National Forest.
