Federal electoral districts of Durango since 2022

The second federal electoral district of Durango (Distrito electoral federal 02 de Durango) is one of the 300 electoral districts into which Mexico is divided for elections to the federal Chamber of Deputies and one of four such districts currently operating in the state of Durango.[1]

It elects one deputy to the lower house of Congress for each three-year legislative period, by means of the first-past-the-post system.

District territory[edit]

Under the 2022 districting plan, which will be used for the 2024, 2027 and 2030 federal elections,[2] the second district covers 10 municipalities in the north of the state: Gómez Palacio, Hidalgo, Indé, Mapimí, Ocampo, El Oro, San Bernardo, San Luis del Cordero, San Pedro del Gallo and Tlahualilo.[3]

The head town (cabecera distrital), where results from individual polling stations are gathered together and collated, is the city of Gómez Palacio.[3]
