Scientific Socialist Communist Party, Nepal

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Scientific Socialist Communist Party, Nepal (Nepali: वैज्ञानिक समाजवादी कम्युनिष्ट पार्टी, नेपाल, abbreviated वैसकपा, नेपाल) is a political party in Nepal. The party was founded on 5 May 2018, the 200th birth centenary of Karl Marx.[1] The party founder Aahuti had previously been a leader of Janamorcha Nepal and later the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre), and had rebelled against the unity process of CPN(Maoist Centre) with the CPN(UML) in late 2017.[1] Ahuti formed a 51-member 'Ideological, Political and Organizational Mobilization Committee-2075' for building the new party.[2] Balaram Timilsina, Rajeshwari Subedi, Jagrat Rayamajhi and Dhruv Par

In January 2021 Aahuti declared that the first party congress of the Scientific Socialist Communist Party, Nepal would be held in 2078 Bikram Sambat.[4] A 47-member preparatory committee, headed by Ahuti, was formed ahead of the party congress.[4] On 11 February 2021 the Strategic United Front was formalized, with Jagrat Rayamajhi as one of its 12 Central Committee members.[5]

History[edit]

The Scientific Socialist Communist Party of Nepal emerged from a foundational meeting in Kathmandu, 2075 B.S., with a vision to spearhead a new communist movement. Rooted in Marxism-Leninism-Maoism, it embraces dialectical materialism and historical materialism as guiding principles, aiming to complete a scientific socialist revolution by challenging globalized capitalism and its parliamentary apparatus. The party advocates for popular uprisings as a strategy for revolution.

Recognizing the pivotal role of science and technology in contemporary productive power, the party is committed to leveraging this force to advance its revolutionary agenda. Key objectives include safeguarding national independence, fostering self-sufficiency in production, and empowering communities while entrusting coordination and management to the state.

Moreover, the party prioritizes the eradication of patriarchal and caste-based oppression, viewing these struggles as integral to combating class exploitation. Despite global setbacks for socialism post-1959 Cuban Revolution, the party remains steadfast in its goal to construct socialism and progress towards communism.[6]
