Roman Mykolayovych Savchenko (Ukrainian: Роман Миколайович Савченко; born 17 February 2004) is a Ukrainian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Chornomorets Odesa, on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk.[1]
Career

[edit]Roman Savchenko was born on 17 February 2004 in Kyinka, Chernihiv Oblast, Ukraine. He started playing football at Kolos Terekhivka, where he played in youth tournaments of Chernihiv Oblast from 2012 to 2017.
Shakhtar Donetsk
[edit]From 2017 to 2021, he played for Shakhtar Donetsk in the Ukrainian Youth Football League. As part of the Miners team, he won the U-14 Youth League in 2018 and the U-15 Youth League in 2019.[2]
Loan to Oleksandriya
[edit]In early March 2023, he went on a 1.5-year loan to Oleksandriya.[2] Initially, he also played for the youth team of the Citizens. He made his debut for the senior team on 24 April 2023, in a 0–0 draw at home in the 22nd round of the 2022–23 Ukrainian Premier League against Inhulets Petrove. Roman entered the pitch in the 35th minute, replacing Serhiy Lohinov.[3][4]
Loan to Chornomorets Odesa
[edit]In late July 2024, he went on a 1-year loan to Chornomorets Odesa together with Danylo Udod, where they joined other players loaned from Shakhtar Donetsk, like Kyrylo Siheyev, Ivan Petryak, Mykhaylo Khromey, Yevhen Yanovich, and Luka Latsabidze.[5][6] However, he has been used rarely during the first half of the season, playing only three matches.[7]
