Ravi Prakash Singh is an Indian scientist.

Early life and education

He was born in Varanasi. He completed bachelor's and master's degrees in agriculture, in 1977 and 1979 respectively, from the Banaras Hindu University. In 1983, he completed a PhD from the University of Sydney.[1]

Career

In 1983, he joined the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center. He retired in 2022.[1][2]

Awards

In 2021, he was awarded the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman.[3] For his contributions to China's agricultural development, he was awarded the Friendship Award.[4] In 2024, he was awarded the fourth highest civilian honor of India, the Padma Shri.[1]
