Ravi Prakash Singh is an Indian scientist. He's awarded Padma Shri, the fourth highest Indian civilian honour.
Early life and education
[edit]He was born in Varanasi. He completed bachelor's and master's degrees in agriculture, in 1977 and 1979 respectively, from the Banaras Hindu University. In 1983, he completed a PhD from the University of Sydney.[1]
Career
[edit]In 1983, he joined the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center. He retired in 2022.[1][2]
Awards
[edit]In 2021, he was awarded the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman.[3] For his contributions to China's agricultural development, he was awarded the Friendship Award.[4]
In 2024, he was awarded the fourth highest civilian honor of India, the Padma Shri.[1]
