Rabi ibn Sabih

Rabi ibn Sabih (Arabic: ربيع بن صبيح) (d. 160 AH[1]) was an early Muslim and a pioneer in recording the hadith among the Sunni Muslims in Basra[2]
In the book titled 'The Muwatta of imam Muhammed', Introduction, Topic one:How the writing of Ahadith Spread,
it is stated:[3]
Then in the later time of the Followers (Tabi‘un) traditions began to be recorded and arranged in chapters when the people of knowledge spread in the great cities, and innovations grew numerous... ...The first to gather them (Hadith) together was ar-Rabi ibn Sabih, Sa‘id Ibn Abi Arubah....
...and some said, 'the Muwatta of Malik', and some others said, 'The first man to compile and arrange according to chapters was Rabi ibn Sabih in Basra.
