Rabea Rogge[1] is an electrical engineer, robotic researcher and polar scientist who is currently scheduled to be the first female German astronaut on a SpaceX mission in late 2024.[2]

Biography

Rabea was born in Berlin and studied in Zürich, specializing in arctic robotics. She obtained her master's degree in electrical engineering at ETH Zurich, currently pursuing PhD from a university in Norway, where she was a member of the Swiss Academic Spaceflight Initiative (ARIS) and lead a satellite mission.[3]

Space tourism

In August 2024, SpaceX announced that Rogge would be mission specialist of the Fram2 mission of a Crew Dragon spacecraft, which aims to be the first human flight to go over the Earth's poles.[4]
