Status of biographical article Anna Maria Erdődy

[edit]

Could a reviewer/administrator please enlighten me as to the present status of this article? It is now in mainspace and has had all AfC tags and other templates removed, yet it does not appear in Google searches. Has "Anna Maria Erdődy" been marked as 'reviewed'? It also, if the absence of templates in the article's Talk section is anything to go by, still needs assessing by the Biography and Classical Music portal-people. Hence my posting the question here. Any news on this would be welcome. Alphaten (talk) 22:15, 2 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Biography

[edit]

Swami Yogeswarananda Giri was born in 1954 in the district of Khurda in Orissa as Sudhanshumauli Patra. He grew up differently than most others. Exhibiting extraordinary spiritual thirst from his childhood, he found little peace in the mundane world. He could see through the futility of temporal life from the very beginning. He thus resolved to spend his earthly sojourn in realizing the ultimate Truth as the one goal of his life ! After completing his Post Graduation in Philosophy (with Vedanta as the special paper), Swamiji renounced the world and came to stay permanently in Karar Ashram in 1977 so as to be in constant and direct contact with his Master-the great Kriya Yogi Swami Hariharananda Giriji Maharaj. Much to the amazement of his master, he quickly progressed on the Kriya path by successfully completing all of its six stages and became an adept himself. With the attainment of the highest state of Nirvikalpa Samadhi in 1982 he had reached the pinnacle of spirituality.

His spiritual attainments were acknowledged by the other great Masters like Swami Paramananda Giri, Swami Bhavananda Giri and Swami Narayan Giri. Swami Narayan Giri was Swami Sriyukteswar Giriji's long time disciple and for four years Swami Yogeswarananda was able to spend much time with this enlightened master, who taught him the Kriya secrets and philosophies based on the teachnings of Gurudev Sri Yukteshwar. Very soon he became an adept in Cosmic Astrology and thus, a befitting disciple in the glorious line of Swami Sriyukteswarji who being a great astrologer himself had the desire to popularise the science through Karar Ashram. As a befitting tribute to the great Master Sriyukteswarji, Swami Yogeswarananda was duly authorised by his revered Guru to preach astrology under the banner of Karar Ashram.

Swami Hariharananda Giriji Maharaj decided to anoint his dearest disciple - Swami Yogeswarananda Giri as his only successor. Much to the surprise of many, Swami Hariharananda Giri even went a step further to resign from the post of Sadhusabhapati or President of Karar Ashram in favour of his dearest disciple in 1983. The great love of the Master for his disciple could not have been more apparent. Thus, on 22.03.1983, Swami Yogeswarananda Giriji Maharaj was appointed as the Sadhusabhapati or President of the Sadhusabha, Sadhumandal of Karar Ashram. Subsequently, under the holy auspices of the Shankaracharya of Govardhan Peeth, Swamiji was formally installed as the Sadhusabhapati of Karar Ashram. Being in the line of such exalted souls as Mahavatar Babaji Maharaj, Sri Sri Shyamacharan Lahiri Mahasaya, Swami Sriyukteswar Giri, Paramahansa Yogananda, Swami Satyananda Giri and Swami Hariharananda Giri, this gentle, unassuming and soft-spoken saint has continued to adorn the high seat of Acharya of this glorious institution since the past more than three decades.

As Acharya of this glorious institution, Swamiji preaches Kriya Yoga, Vedic scriptures and imparts practical training in moral and spiritual matters. All those who have come in close contact with Swamiji are united in their view that he is the very picture of perfection that the Geeta refers to as ‘Sthitaprajnya’. The greatness of Swamiji lies is his simplicity and the uncanny ability to relate higher spiritual truths to day-to-day life in a rather common place manner. The long years of Kriya meditation have conferred the state of ‘Paravasthaa’ or the perpetually meditative state on Swamiji.

@Bnparida: Unfortunately, you have placed this, well, in the wrong place. I see that you used the sandbox to create this text and then apparently did not know the next step. That's ok, we were all new once and it can be confusing for new users. I created the draft article Draft:Swami Yogeswarananda Giri for where you can copy and paste this text to. I did not do that myself because that would make the Wikipedia software credit me for your hard work, which is neither allowed nor desirable. Do not remove the text that looks like this-> {{AFC submission/draft}}. That creates a template that will, whenever you are ready, submit your article for review through the Articles for Creation process. To find out what should happen next, I suggest you click on and read each of these links and also read your first article. I hope this helps. Vandalism on the main page

[edit]

To whoever is reading this at the moment: I just noticed that someone has vandalized the biography portal under the 'Selected Portrait' section. Can someone please revert that back to it's non-vandalized state? Thank you in advance.

Index to biographical articles

[edit]

Have a look at the index to biographical articles on de.Wikipedia. What a great resource! Is anything like that available on en.Wikipedia? I attempted to check if there was such a Category, but couldn't navigate the maze of categories. I usually am looking for people who aren't very well known, so I don't much care about the quality; any information is better than the nothing I have. And there should be a search field on this portal's page. Bcjohnston (talk) 00:09, 25 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Frederico Trajano

[edit]

Hi! I'm having an issue creating the article Frederico Trajano on en.wiki. I created this article based on the pt.wiki version. This person is a businessman, CEO of a very important company in Brasil, the Magazine Luiza. But, by some reason the editor MrsSnoozyTurtle is marking it for deletion and after weeks he decided to attack this article again moving it to draft. He is notorious and all references are ok. MrsSnoozyTurtle indicated COI in my contributions, but I don't have any connection with this person or his company. Since some editors from pt.wiki did the same attacks to my contributions, I guess MrsSnoozyTurtle is doing it here by request from somebody from pt.wiki. Someone can help me to fix this issue? Adding "Random Biography" to portal?

[edit]

Hi! I was wondering what y'all thoughts were on adding a link using randomincategory.toolforge.org. Perhaps this could be done using Category:WikiProject Biography articles. A. C. SantacruzPlease ping me! 18:16, 19 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Change of title for Adolphe Schloss page

[edit]

On the talk page for Adolphe Schloss I am suggesting that the title be changed to 'The Schlosse Collection'. Presumably this would mean it would no longer come under the biographies heading. If you have an interest, please comment on the talk page. Rjm at sleepers (talk) 09:08, 4 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Articles about Biographies

[edit]

As far as I can see there are only a very few articles about Biographies:

I would like to call them "meta-biographies".

Can we give these articles a place in the portal?

Thanks for your thoughts. --Dick Bos (talk) 18:22, 16 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
