- 1970 - Typhoon Olga reached its peak intensity with 260 km/h (160 mph) winds.
- 1985 - Hurricane Dolores (pictured) reached its maximum intensity as a Category 3 major hurricane.
- 2010 - Hurricane Alex makes landfall over Mexico, causing about $1.9 billion in damages.
July 2
- 2002 - Typhoon Chataan passed over Chuuk State in its formative stages, causing torrential rain that killed 37 people.
- 2024 - Hurricane Beryl (pictured) reached its peak intensity in the Caribbean Sea as a Category 5 on the Saffir-Simpson scale, the earliest on record for an Atlantic hurricane to reach such an intensity.
July 3,
- 1963 - The final storm of the 1962–63 Southern Hemisphere tropical cyclone season dissipates to the west of New Zealand, becoming one of two Southern Hemisphere tropical cyclones on record to exist in two separate seasons.
- 1994 - Tropical Storm Alberto (pictured) made landfall near Destin, Florida. Alberto killed 32 people in total with damages of about $1 billion.
July 4,
- 1974 - Typhoon Gilda reached its peak intensity with 155 km/h (100 mph) winds before it affected Japan and South Korea, killing 128 and people causing $1.5 billion of damage.
- 2014 - Hurricane Arthur (pictured) reached its peak intensity while making landfall over in North Carolina which caused about $22.7 million in damages and only killed two people.
July 5,
- 1992 - Hurricane Darby attains peak strength with winds of 195 km/h (120 mph).
- 2005 - Hurricane Cindy (pictured) made landfall in southeast Louisiana as a minimal hurricane causing flooding and a severe power outage in New Orleans. Cindy caused a total of $320 million of damage.
- 2007 - Tropical Storm Toraji makes landfall over in South China as a weak tropical storm causing US$9.7 million in damages.
July 6,
- 2001 - Tropical Storm Utor made landfall in southeastern China. Utor brought heavy rain to China which caused 144 deaths and nearly $300 million of damage.
- 2016 - Hurricane Blas (pictured) reached its maximum intensity as a Category 4 hurricane with winds of 220 km/h (140 mph) and a pressure of 947 hPa.
July 7,
- 1993 - Hurricane Calvin hit the Mexican coast near Manzanillo. Calvin caused over $32 million of damage and killed 34 people.
- 2008 - Recognized as the long-lived Atlantic hurricane on record during July, Hurricane Bertha (pictured) reaches its peak intensity as a Category 3 major hurricane. Bertha only killed three people.
- July 8, 2005 - Hurricane Dennis (pictured) made its second Cuban landfall with 220 km/h (140 mph) winds. Dennis caused between $4 billion and $6 billion of damage, mostly in Cuba and the United States.
July 9,
- 1995 - Tropical Storm Barry made landfall on Hart Island, Nova Scotia, Canada. Barry brought only minor effects to the province.
- 2015 - Typhoon Chan-hom (pictured) reached its peak intensity with 1-minute sustained winds of 220 km/h (140 mph), just a day before it made landfall over in Zhejiang which caused about CN¥5.86 billion (US$944 million) in damages.
July 10,
- 2001 - Tropical Storm Trami makes landfall over Taiwan as a tropical storm.
- 2006 - Typhoon Ewiniar (pictured) made landfall in South Korea as a severe tropical storm, passing very close to Seoul. Ewiniar killed least 40 people in various countries.
July 11,
- 1967 - Typhoon Clara made landfall in Taiwan, bringing record rainfall to the island. 69 people died.
- 1987 - Typhoon Thelma (pictured) attains peak strength with 1-minute sustained winds of 240 km/h (150 mph) and a minimum pressure of 915 hPa while nearing Luzon, Philippines.
July 12,
- 1976 - Typhoon Therese reached maximum intensity with winds of 250 km/h (155 mph) and a minimum pressure of 905 hPa. Therese affected Japan causing millions of damage with only three fatalities.
- 1996 - Hurricane Bertha (pictured) impacted North Carolina as a Category 2 hurricane. Bertha killed 12 people and caused $270 million of damage.
July 13,
- 1965 - Typhoon Freda made landfall on northern Luzon in the Philippines. Freda caused heavy flooding in the Philippines and southern China.
- 2006 - Hurricane Bud briefly reaches Category 3 major hurricane intensity.
- 2010 - Typhoon Conson (pictured) makes landfall and impacts Luzon, killing a total of 102 people and leaving about PhP380 million (US$8.3 million) worth of damages.
July 14,
- 1972 - Typhoon Tess attains its peak as a Category 4 typhoon with winds of 230 km/h (145 mph).
- 2006 - Tropical Storm Bilis (pictured) hit Fujian, China as a tropical storm. Bilis killed over 600 people and caused $4.4 billion of damage in southeastern part of China.
July 15,
- 1972 - Tropical Storm Phyllis, from a very strong typhoon, makes landfall over southern Japan as a weakening storm which caused three deaths, more than 100 landslides and flooded more than 6,000 homes.
- 2003 - Hurricane Claudette (pictured) made landfall near Port O'Connor, Texas as a minimal hurricane, causing nearly $200 million of damage.
July 16,
- 2005 - Hurricane Emily (pictured) reached its peak intensity of 929 hPa (mbar) near Jamaica, becoming the strongest July tropical cyclone ever recorded in the North Atlantic basin.
- 2011 - Typhoon Ma-on briefly reached its maximum intensity as a Category 4 after interacting and absorbing another storm.
July 17,
- 1983 - Typhoon Vera hit the Philippines with winds of 140 km/h (85 mph) before moving into the South China Sea. Vera killed over 100 people in the Philippines and on Hainan Island.
- 2016 - Cyclone Abela becomes a tropical storm, marking the fourth occurrence of a tropical cyclone existing in the southwest Indian Ocean during the month of July
- 2021 - Hurricane Felicia (pictured) - An unusually small Category 4 Hurricane that became the strongest storm of 2021 Pacific Hurricane Season in July.
July 18,
- 2005 - Typhoon Haitang made landfall on Taiwan, causing numerous landslides and flash floods across the island.
- 2014 - Typhoon Rammasun (pictured) reached its peak intensity as a Category 5 super typhoon, being one of only two Category 5 typhoons on record to exist in the South China Sea. Overall damages over in China and in the Philippines had totaled to $7.13 billion and killing nearly 200 people.
- July 19, 1978 - Hurricane Fico (pictured) passed to the south of Hawaii as a Category 3 hurricane, bringing heavy surf to the Big Island.
July 20,
- 1974 - Typhoon Ivy made landfall on eastern Luzon in the Philippines, killing 66 people.
- 1986 - Hurricane Estelle (pictured) attains Category 4 hurricane intensity while nearing Hawaii which caused only $2 million in damages including the deaths on two people.
July 21,
- 2006 - Tropical Storm Beryl briefly made landfall on Nantucket, Massachusetts. Beryl brought only minimal effects to the East Coast of the United States and Atlantic Canada.
- 2010 - Typhoon Chanthu (pictured) reached Category 1 typhoon intensity while nearing South China which caused about $324 million in damages and killing 13 people in total.
July 22,
- 2003 - Typhoon Imbudo (pictured) made landfall in the eastern Philippines. Imbudo killed a total of 41 people in the Philippines and China.
- 2015 - Typhoon Halola reaches its peak intensity as a Category 2 after originating in the Central Pacific.
July 23,
- 1997 - The third of ten Category 5 typhoons, Typhoon Rosie reaches 10-minute winds of 185 km/h (115 mph).
- 2005 - Tropical Storm Franklin reached its peak intensity with a central pressure of 997 hPa (mbar) to the southwest of Bermuda. Franklin caused only minimal effects on land.
- 2012 - Typhoon Vicente (pictured) makes landfall over in Guangdong, China as a Category 4 typhoon, causing damages of nearly U$330 million.
July 24,
- 1979 - Tropical Storm Claudette (pictured) made landfall near the Texas-Louisianan border, bringing record levels of rainfall. The resulting floods caused about $400 million of damage.
- 2005 - Tropical Storm Gert becomes the fourth of seven tropical cyclones to make landfall over in Mexico. As a weak tropical storm, Gert only killed one person and caused minimal damages.
July 25
- 1927 - A typhoon moved ashore near Hong Kong and killed about 10,000 people from floods.
- 1985 - Hurricane Bob (pictured) impacted South Carolina as a Category 1 hurricane. Bob caused about $20 million in damage.
- 2002 - Hurricane Elida became the first of three Category 5 major hurricanes of the season. Elida had maximum sustained winds of 260 km/h (160 mph) and a minimum pressure of 921 hPa (27.20 inHg) out in the East Pacific.
- July 26, 1926 - The 1926 Nassau hurricane (track pictured) reached its peak intensity with winds of 220 km/h (140 mph) over the central Bahamas. The hurricane killed 287 people and devastated Nassau.
July 27
- 1862 - A typhoon made landfall near Hong Kong, killing 80,000 people.
- 1943 - A US Air Force pilot flew his North American T-6 Texan trainer directly into a hurricane off the Gulf Coast of the United States, making it the first hurricane entered by reconnaissance aircraft.
- 2011 - Tropical Storm Nock-ten (pictured) makes landfall over in Luzon, Philippines where it killed 75 people with damages of US$65.7 million in the country alone.
July 28,
- 1996 - Hurricane Cesar–Douglas made landfall in Nicaragua. Cesar killed 67 people and caused over $39 million of damage.
- 2008 - Typhoon Fung-wong makes landfall over Taiwan as a Category 2 typhoon, which killed 23 people and have damages of over $500 million.
- 2023 - Typhoon Doksuri (pictured) made landfall in southern China, becoming the costliest Pacific typhoon on record after $28.4 billion in damage.
July 29,
- 1982 - Typhoon Bess (pictured) reaches its peak intensity with 1-minute sustained winds of 260 km/h (160 mph). Bess impacted Japan which killed 95 people and damaged about US$2.3 billion.
- 2004 - Hurricane Darby reached its peak intensity with 195 km/h (120 mph) winds in the open Pacific Ocean. Darby later brought heavy rain to Hawaii.
July 30,
- 1978 - Tropical Storm Amelia made landfall in Texas, causing severe flooding that killed 33 people.
- 2011 - Typhoon Muifa (pictured) reaches its maximum intensity as a Category 5 with 10-minute winds of 175 km/h (110 mph).
- 2015 - Cyclone Komen makes landfall over in Bangladesh which worsened the 2015 Myanmar floods.
July 31,
- 1996 - Typhoon Herb hit Taiwan near its peak intensity with 240 km/h (150 mph) winds. Herb caused $5 billion of damage on Taiwan and killed about 500 people.
- 2017 - Typhoon Noru (pictured) briefly reaches Category 5 typhoon intensity. Noru was recognized as the third-longest-lasting tropical cyclone of the Northwest Pacific Ocean on record and marked the latest occurrence of the first typhoon since 1998.
