Poluńce ([pɔˈluɲt͡sɛ]; Lithuanian: Paliūnai[3]) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Puńsk, within Sejny County, Podlaskie Voivodeship, in north-eastern Poland, close to the border with Lithuania.[4] It lies approximately 9 kilometres (6 mi) east of Puńsk, 16 km (10 mi) north of Sejny, and 127 km (79 mi) north of the regional capital Białystok.
From 1975-1998 the village was administratively governed by the Suwałki Voivodeship
History
[edit]In the Inter-war period a guard post of the Border Protection Corps was stationed here.[5]
