Plutomania Records, often abbreviated as PTMR, is a record label based in Benin City, Nigeria, founded by Nigerian singer and rapper Shallipopi in 2023.[1] Initially launched as a joint venture with Dapper Music, PTMR has since become an independent label.[2] With a roster featuring Zerrydl, Tega Boi Dc, and Reehaa, PTMR has released two studio albums and three extended plays.[3] Plutomania Records has released songs for upcoming Afrobeat artists.
History
[edit]Plutomania Records (PTMR) was launched on October 17, 2023, as a joint venture between Nigerian singer Shallipopi and Dapper Music, an independent music distributor.[4][5] The label specializes in artist management and music production.[6] Alongside Shallipopi, the label signed its first two acts that same year: Zerrydl and Tega Boi DC.[7]
In November 2023, the label released its debut album, Presido La Pluto.[8] This was followed by Zerrydl's debut extended play, Danger Zee, in December 2023. In April 2024, Plutomania Records released Shallipopi's second album, Shakespopi. The following month, PTR released Zerrydl's second EP, Wara Wara Szn. In September 2024, Shallipopi signed Reehaa, a female singer, as the label's fourth artist, and released her debut EP, Ajala, later that same month.[9]
In November 2024, Shallipopi's Plutomania Records (PTMR) parted ways with Dapper Music, ending their distribution partnership.[10]
