Life and career

[edit]

Born in Alessandria to Roman parents who were there spending the Christmas holidays,[1] Fogliati grew up in Mentana[2] and formed at an amateur drama school before graduating from the Silvio d’Amico Academy of Dramatic Arts.[3] After several stage roles, she made her film debut in 2016, in Fausto Brizzi's Forever Young.[3] Also active on television, she was the lead actress in the Rai 1 medical drama Cuori and in the Netflix comedy series I Hate Christmas.[4][5]

In 2022, Fogliati made her directorial and screenwriting debut with Romantic Girls, an anthology comedy film in which she played four different characters;[1] for her performance she won a Nastro d'Argento for best actress in a comedy film and a Globo d'Oro for best actress.[6][7] In 2024, she won a second Nastro d'Argento for best actress in a comedy film for Romeo Is Juliet.[8]
