Philippine Math Olympiad

The Philippine Mathematical Olympiad is a secondary school mathematics competition which claims to be "the oldest and most prestigious nationwide mathematics competition among secondary school students".[1] First held in 1984, the PMO was created as a venue for high school students with interest and talent in mathematics to come together in the spirit of friendly competition and sportsmanship.

The PMO has three stages: two regional and one national.

The Mathematical Society of the Philippines (MSP) selects a team from the top 20 PMO national finalists to represent the Philippines at the IMO. The Philippines first participated in the IMO in 1988.

  • Carmela Antoinette Lao: Silver medalist in 2010
  • Jerome Suntay Khohayting: Silver medalist in 1989
