The Philippine Mathematical Olympiad is a secondary school mathematics competition which claims to be "the oldest and most prestigious nationwide mathematics competition among secondary school students".[1] First held in 1984, the PMO was created as a venue for high school students with interest and talent in mathematics to come together in the spirit of friendly competition and sportsmanship.
PMO stages
[edit]The PMO has three stages: two regional and one national.
PMO and the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO)
[edit]The Mathematical Society of the Philippines (MSP) selects a team from the top 20 PMO national finalists to represent the Philippines at the IMO. The Philippines first participated in the IMO in 1988.

- Andres Rico Gonzales III:[2] Highest country rank in 2020
- Albert John Patupat:[3] Highest country rank in 2018
- Farrell Eldrian Wu, a naturalized Filipino,[4] Highest country rank in 2016
- Incidentally, Farrell graduated in MIT with a perfect GPA.[5]
- Kyle Patrick Dulay: Highest country rank in 2016
- Sean Anderson Ty: Silver medalist in 2019
- Clyde Wesley Ang: Silver medalist in 2016
- Adrian Reginald Sy: Silver medalist in 2015
- Carmela Antoinette Lao: Silver medalist in 2010
- Jerome Suntay Khohayting: Silver medalist in 1989
