The People First Party is an unregistered Australian political party. It was founded on 10 September 2024 by independent senator Gerard Rennick.[1]
History
[edit]In July 2023, Rennick was disendorsed from being on the Coalition's senate ticket for the next Australian federal election.[2] In September 2024, he quit the party to found PFP.[1]
Policies
[edit]Policies of People First includes creating a public bank for infrastructure funding, raising the tax-free threshold to $40,000 AUD, and making changes to childcare funding; Rennick has stated opposition to increasing federal funding of childcare, saying it infects children with the "woke mind virus".[3][2][4]
