The Paktia Super Kings (Pashto: د پکتیا غوره پاچاهان), formerly known as the Paktia Panthers (Pashto: د پکتیا تور پړانګان), is an Afghan professional Twenty20 cricket franchise team that competes in the Afghanistan Premier League.[1] The team is based in Khost, the provincial capital of Khost Province and the largest city of Loya Paktia region, Afghanistan.[2] The team was formed in 2018, as a result of the formation of the Afghanistan Premier League by Afghanistan Cricket Board. The team is currently captained by Shahid Afridi, and coached by Dawlat Ahmadzai, a former member of the Afghanistan national cricket team.[3][4][5][6] Shahid Afridi is the icon player of the franchise.[7]
