Niels Niklas Bang Nikolajsen (*1975) is a Danish-Swiss[1] FinTech entrepreneur in the field of cryptocurrencies. He is the founder of Bitcoin Suisse and serves on the board of Nikolajsen Capital AG. Since 2011, he has been residing in Switzerland.

Career

Nikolajsen worked as a software architect and software developer, focusing primarily on the financial sector.[citation needed] Since 2010, he has been an advocate for Bitcoin and blockchain technology, particularly in Switzerland.[2] In 2013, he co-founded Bitcoin Suisse AG, which, as of 2021, is a broker, asset manager, and financial service provider in the crypto-finance sector.[citation needed] He served as CEO of the company until the end of 2017.[citation needed] Since 2018, Nikolajsen has been the chairman of the board of Bitcoin Suisse AG.[citation needed] In 2014, he co-founded the Digital Finance Compliance Association and joined its board.[3] In 2016 and 2018, the Swiss business magazine BILANZ ranked him among the top 100 most influential bankers in Switzerland.[4][5]

Personal life

In 2018, Nikolajsen purchased the Salesianum in Zug. After extensive renovations, he moved into the cultural heritage site in the summer of 2023.[6] He is married and has two children.[7]

Wealth

According to the 2023 "Rich List" published by Bilanz, Nikolajsen's wealth was estimated at 250 million Swiss francs.[8]
