Muzungu Sisters is a fashion company founded in 2009[1] (launched in 2011)[2] by Tatiana Casiraghi and Dana Alikhani. The word "Muzungu" is Swahili, meaning "traveler"[3] or "wanderer."[4]
Mission
[edit]They "commission handcrafted goods" from artisans in obscure, far-out communities who otherwise might never have been discovered.[5] They are a "sustainable" company that stresses "fair labor practices."[2] With a focus on "fine craftsmanship, natural materials and traditional techniques", the founders are inspired by travel, friends, family and street style.[6]
