Millicent

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Millicent or Milicent is a feminine given name that has been in use since the Middle Ages. The English form Millicent derives from the Old French Melisende, stemming from the Germanic name Amalasuintha ( from amal meaning, "work" and swinth meaning, "strength"). The name has gone through many variations, with Melisent first being more usual, eventually giving way to the now more common Millicent. [1]
