Michael Amushelelo

Michael Saddam Amushelelo (born 22 January 1991, at Oniipa, Oshikoto Region) is a Namibian social activist, politician and a businessman. He is former member of Namibia Economic Freedom Fighters (NEFF), he resigned from the party after it was deregistered by the Electoral Commission of Namibia . He recently joined Landless People's Movement.[1][2]

Early life and education

Amushelelo was born on 22 January 1991 at Oniipa Settlement in Oshikoto Region. He has seven siblings and he is the oldest among them. He was raised in a traditional rural setup during his toddler years with chores such as toiling the field and herding livestock formed his early grooming. At the age of two, his father take him to Windhoek for the better future prospects. He attend his primary grades at Moses van der Byl Primary School in Katutura and matriculated at Concordia College.[3]

Business career

At the tender age Amushelelo used to sell lollypops at high school that earned him a nickname "Stokkie or Lollypop". After completing high school he ventured into a cleaning business before he become a street vendor selling basic needs products such as airtime, hot dogs, soft drinks among other goods.[1][3]

Controversies

Amushelelo is facing about 365 criminal charges such fraudulent investment schemes, money laundering and fraud that are mainly instituted by the government.[1]
