Matthew Norman (born November 28, 2000) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the BC Iverioni-Gori of the Georgian Superliga.[1] He played college basketball for Snow and North Dakota.[2]
Early life
[edit]Norman grew up in Orem, Utah and attended Timpanogos High School.[3] During his senior year he would earn first team all-state honors and would be named the region most valuable player.[4]
College career
[edit]On May 13, 2019, Norman signed with Snow College who competes in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).[5]
During the 2020–21 season, he would earn NJCAA All-American honors, earning a spot on the honorable mention team.[6]
On April 15, 2021, Norman announced his commitment to play basketball at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota.[7]
During the two season he spent with the Fighting Hawks, Norman would appear in 52 games, starting in 31 of them. During the 2021–22 season, he averaged 9.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. During the 2022–23 season he averaged 12.9 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game.[8] Following the season, he would be named the Summit League Sixth Man of the Year.[9]
Professional career

[edit]On August 10, 2023, it was announced that Norman would be signing with BC Iverioni-Gori of the Georgian Superliga.[10] During the 2023–24 season he appeared in 19 games and averaged 13.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game.[11]
