Macron (Russian: Макрон) is an 2024 Russian comedy TV Series produced by TNT and directed by Irina Arkadyeva.[1]
Plot
[edit]The title of the series refers to the personal life of French president Emmanuel Macron, who is married to his former teacher.[2][3]
23-year-old Andrey comes from Moscow to his small hometown in the Arkhangelsk region to introduce his girlfriend to his parents. Vika is Andrey's boss, their office romance has quietly developed into a serious relationship, despite the 20-year age difference. Andrey has serious intentions, but this causes a strong reaction from conservative relatives "the family has its own Macron". Andrey's mother uses all methods to make Vika disappear from her son's life immediately: she dissuades him, sets him up, takes offense and even turns to otherworldly forces. The situation is complicated by the fact that Andrey's ex-girlfriend also begins to interfere in the couple's life with redoubled force in order to get Andrey back, and her single father falls in love with Vika and is determined to marry her.[4]

Reception
[edit]Critic Natalia Grigorieva (Kino-teatr.ru ) praised the actors' performance and also noted: "The story is based not only on the actors, but also on the plot itself, which is amazingly bold and relevant. A new look at the eternal theme of fathers and sons, an unconventional coming-of-age novel and a love story in the spirit of the times (and not quite in the spirit of the place, which is even more attractive forbidden fruit is sweet). The first episodes are also an example of a sitcom, full of gags, awkward dialogues and other curiosities. However, with a very convincing reserve for a higher genre".[7]
Production
[edit]The series takes place in Mezen, but filming took place in Moscow and near Tver.[8]
