M3GAN 2.0 is an upcoming American science fiction horror film directed by Gerard Johnstone and written by Akela Cooper. A sequel to M3GAN (2022), it sees Allison Williams and Violet McGraw return to star, alongside Ivanna Sakhno, Timm Sharp, Aristotle Athari and Jemaine Clement. Jason Blum and James Wan return as producers under their respective Blumhouse Productions and Atomic Monster companies, alongside Divide/Conquer.
M3GAN 2.0 is scheduled to be released in the United States by Universal Pictures on June 27, 2025.

Production
[edit]In November 2022, The New York Times reported that Universal Pictures was pleased how M3GAN's box office performance had turned out and had plans for a sequel.[1] In January 2023, Gerard Johnstone confirmed talks of a sequel, with James Wan explaining that he had an "idea of where sequels would go".[2] A few weeks later, Universal confirmed a release date and that the title would be M3GAN 2.0. Akela Cooper returned to write the script and Johnstone also returned to direct.[3]
Allison Williams and Violet McGraw reprise their roles as Gemma and Cady, respectively.[3] Jenna Davis, Brian Jordan Alvarez and Jen Van Epps also reprise their roles from the prior film while Ivanna Sakhno,[4] Timm Sharp, Aristotle Athari and Jemaine Clement join the main cast.[5] Principal photography began in New Zealand on July 16, 2024,[6] and finished by October 2024.[7]
Release
[edit]M3GAN 2.0 is scheduled to be released on June 27, 2025.[8] The film was originally scheduled to be released on January 17, 2025,[3] and May 16, 2025.[9]
