Lundavra is a rural locality in the Goondiwindi Region, Queensland, Australia.[2] In the 2021 census, Lundavra had a population of 56 people.[1]
Geography
[edit]The Moonie Highway passes to the north, the Leichhardt Highway to the east, the Barwon Highway to the south, and the Meandarra Talwood Road (State Route 74) to the west.[3]
History
[edit]Lundavra State School opened on 3 February 1964 with 16 students under principal Mr N Grayson.[4][5]
Demographics
[edit]In the 2016 census, Lundavra had a population of 100 people.[6]
In the 2021 census, Lundavra had a population of 56 people.[1]
Education
[edit]Lundavra State School is a government primary (Prep-6) school for boys and girls at 238 Lienassie Road (28°04′13″S 149°58′55″E / 28.0702°S 149.9820°E).[7][8] In 2016, the school had an enrolment of 10 students with 2 teachers (1 full-time equivalent) and 4 non-teaching staff (2 full-time equivalent).[9] In 2018, the school had an enrolment of 14 students with 2 teachers and 4 non-teaching staff (2 full-time equivalent).[10] In 2023, the school had an enrolment of 2 students.[11] As at 2024, the school remains officially open, but is not operating.[12]
There is no secondary school in Lundavra. The nearest secondary school is Goondiwindi State High School in Goondiwindi to the south-east. However, it is sufficiently distant that distance education or boarding school would be other options.[13]
