Love in the Big City (Korean대도시의 사랑법) is a 2024 South Korean comedy drama film directed by E.oni [ko], based on the novel of the same name by Sang Young Park [ko], written by Kim Na-deul, and starring Kim Go-eun and Noh Sang-hyun. It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 13, 2024, and received a theatrical release in South Korea on October 1, 2024.

Plot

Jae-hee, a free spirit with a bold, eye-catching style and an unflinching attitude, doesn’t care what others think. However, things take a turn when she becomes entangled with Heung-soo. Soon, Jae-hee stumbles upon a secret that Heung-soo is desperate to keep hidden. As they get to know each other, they realize that while they may not be each other's ideal types, there are moments only they can truly understand. Ignoring the wild rumors swirling around them, Jae-hee and Heung-soo embark on a cohabitation life, living and loving in their own unique way.

In July 2024, the film rights were acquired by KDDI in Japan; Moviecloud in Taiwan; The Filmbridge in Mongolia; CJ HK Entertainment in Vietnam; Purple Plan in Singapore and Indonesia, CJ HK Entertainment in Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Laos; Neofilms in Hong Kong and Macau; and Great Movies/A2 Films in Latin America.[3]

A teaser trailer for the film was released on August 13, 2024.[4] A second trailer was released on September 12, 2024.[5]

The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 13, 2024.[6][7] It received a theatrical release in South Korea on October 1, 2024.[8]
