Louis Anthony Dermot Walsh (born 5 August 2000) is an English professional footballer who plays as a winger for Southern League Premier Division South club Gosport Borough.
Career
[edit]Early career
[edit]Walsh signed for Barnsley in July 2018, having previously been on trial with the club.[3] He moved on loan to Guiseley in November 2018 for a month,[4] making 5 league and 5 cup appearances for the club.[2]
Southend United
[edit]After leaving Barnsley in April 2019 he went on trial with Nottingham Forest.[5] He signed for Southend United in December 2020 on an 18-month contract.[6] Walsh scored once in sixteen appearances in all competitions for the Shrimpers.[2]
Barnet
[edit]Walsh joined Barnet on a permanent contract on 16 February 2022.[7] In July 2022, Walsh, along with team-mate Aymen Azaze, joined Beaconsfield Town on loan.[8] In November 2022, he joined Banbury United on a one-month loan.[9] He left the Bees by mutual consent in December 2022.[10]
Later career
[edit]Walsh signed for Slough Town in December 2022.[11] He later registered also with Thame United and Risborough Rangers.[12] He joined Bedford Town for the 2023–24 season.[13] After nine goals in 32 games for the Eagles, he joined AFC Dunstable in March 2024.[14]
After a successful trial period, Walsh joined Oxford City in August 2024.[15] He scored four goals on his debut against Willand Rovers in the FA Cup.[16] In February 2025, following a short spell with Bishop's Stortford, he joined Gosport Borough.[17]
Playing style
[edit]Former club Barnsley said of Walsh that "blessed with incredible acceleration and terrific technique, the flying winger ghosts past defenders with consummate ease and frequently provides teammates with assists while contributing with goals too".[18]
