List of fishes of Denmark

This is a list of fish found in and around Denmark, in both fresh water (lakes, rivers, streams and man-made pools) and salt water. The principal source is the Atlas of Danish Fishes (Fiskeatlas). This atlas comprises a published atlas of Danish freshwater fishes[1] and a yet unpublished atlas of saltwater fishes.[2] Common Danish names are given in parenthesis after the Latin names.

  • Ratfish, Chimaera monstrosa (Havmus)
  • Spurdog, Squalus acanthias (Pighaj)
  • Opah, Lampris guttatus (Glansfisk)
  • Dealfish, Trachipterus arcticus (Vågmær)
  • Alfonsino, Beryx decadactylus (Nordisk beryx)
  • Pogge, Agonus cataphractus (Panserulk)
