Wes Anderson is an American film director and writer.

Anderson is known for directing such films as Bottle Rocket (1996), Rushmore (1998), The Royal Tenenbaums (2001), The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004), The Darjeeling Limited (2007), Moonrise Kingdom (2012), The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014), The French Dispatch (2021), and Asteroid City (2023). He has also directed the stop-motion animated films Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009), and Isle of Dogs (2018).

He has received numerous accolades including a BAFTA Award for Best Original Screenplay and the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, for The Grand Budapest Hotel as well as the Independent Spirit Award for Best Director for Rushmore. He has also received seven Academy Award nominations, winning for The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar (2023). He won the Writers Guild of America Award, the Silver Bear for Best Director, and the Golden Lion.
