A group of holidaymakers arrive and strive at the Solana resort in Benidorm. Martin and Kate escape the horrors of their last holiday by staying in Altea, but a problem with the room leads to Kate facing her worst nightmare. The holidaymakers are up for a coach trip to see a free bullfight, but Madge has terrible diarrhoea – making them late by stopping all the time. Just as the holidaymakers think things can't possibly get any worse, Janey tries to flog €200 electric juicers. Unfortunately, she has to sell at least one juicer or the holidaymakers are not allowed to watch the fight. To stop the fuss, Mel agrees to buy one – only to hear of the price. Just after, the holidaymakers go to see the bullfight, it doesn't go as planned – it turns out the bull is replaced by a dog with fake horns, and Mateo is the bullfighter. During the bullfight, the electric juicer that Mel purchased blows up. To everyone's shock, Kate announces he is dead – until he wakes up, scaring everybody. Meanwhile at the Solana, Geoff and Chantelle decide not to see the bullfight, and instead have a few burgers on the poolside with each other and baby Coolio. | ||||||

Ex-hotel worker Kelly is back, this time with her cockney mother, Sylvia. As Sylvia's mobility scooter stops working, Mel offers to fix it, but Michael and Chantelle think he is kissing her. That morning, Janice goes to a local bar for a drink with Madge, and finds out the young owner, Jack, has a crush on her. As Janice forgot her money, Jack tells Janice she can pay him with a kiss. As her mother leaves, she secretly snogs Jack – but she soon realises her mistake, as he quickly becomes obsessed with her. Later that night in Neptune's, Janice cries and opens up to Mick, finally revealing that it was their anniversary, but still keeping the secret of kissing Jack. It's the wedding day, but Mel and Madge's night before is ruined, after they discover they are on a very inappropriate beach. However as the wedding goes on, interruptions from Jack, Janice's stalker, as well as Martin, and a final disastrous accident ends the ceremony altogether and leaves Mel in hospital. |

The wedding continues, but what is supposed to be the most memorable day of Mel and Madge's lives doesn't go to plan. Janice's stalker, Jack, interrupts the ceremony asking Janice for "one last kiss." Kate breaks the news to Martin that she is pregnant – but is the doctor right? Just as Madge and Mel are saying their vows, Geoff's parachute spins out of control, wiping out a German family and kicking Mel in the head. When Mel awakes, he has lost his memory. Taking Donald's suggestions, Mick punches Mel in the head (trying to get his memory back), but that just causes him to faint again. Mel is taken away in an ambulance and Mick is taken away in a police car. As the guests head back to the Solana, Madge and Janice get a lift from a Spanish man (who turns out to be a murderer with drugs and a gun) to the police station and hospital, but instead takes them to a cliff and threatens to kill them if they don't stay in his car. They both are then taken back to the Solana, and they, Mick, Mateo, Donald, Troy and Gavin are held hostage. He takes them to the rooftop and threatens to throw them off the roof. Mel turns up in a helicopter, knocking the murderer unconscious with a bat, and kisses Madge, finally getting back his memory. The holidaymakers are back after being offered a free holiday, due to the tragic events on the rooftop. Mel, Madge's husband, has set up a mobility shop on the promenade, with a special grand opening ahead, and ropes Mick into helping promote it. Martin returns, but this time without Kate – as they have separated. Instead, Brandy (a young, blonde girl from Birkenhead) joins him. Later at the grand opening, Martin is shocked to see a face from the past. Due to the amount of electric wires, the mobility shop goes up in flames and burns down after just one day of being open. Meanwhile, Noreen has returned to stay at the Solana but this time with a gentleman called Clive, who claims he was an old friend of Noreen's late husband, and Donald and Jacqueline have brought all members of the Middlesbrough Swingers Association to stay with them at the Solana. Mel lies to the Garveys that he was working in Morocco, but it turns out he was in hospital in a critical condition. Whilst at the Benidorm Palace Christmas Show, the Garveys receive a heartbreaking phone call when the nurse who spoke to Mick confirms that Mel is dead.* Absent: Hugh Sachs as Gavin Ramsbottom. Chaos reigns at the Solana Hotel as Mateo and Les find it hard to keep control. Les/Leslie's son Liam is now working as the hotel's caretaker. Meanwhile, some Solana guests (including Gavin and Noreen) are not happy after learning their luggage has been mysteriously lost on the coach. Back at the pool bar, Spanish barman Mateo ends up teaching Liam the art of chatting up pretty women. Kenneth and Gavin comfort lately widowed Jacqueline, but get a nasty shock when they think they have seen the ghost of Donald. Joyce Temple-Savage (Sherrie Hewson), the new manager of the hotel, secretly watches everything that is going on, as she is determined she can earn the Solana a 4-star rating. Wild holidaymaker Sam is back, this time with a new Liverpudlian friend, Trudy. First appearance of Sherrie Hewson as Joyce Temple-Savage and Michelle Butterly as Trudy. Absent: Steve Pemberton as Mick Garvey. Note: The reason why Mick is absent in this episode is because he has to deal with Mel's Sunbed Shops back in Manchester, which have caught on fire. New manager Joyce organises a dance competition for the guests, and everyone is eager to take part – to win a €100 voucher for Kenneth's salon. Rehearsals are supervised by her old flame Cyril Babcock (Matthew Kelly), an ageing playboy, whose impatience with the talentless contestants leads to a dance-off with Mateo. At the new Solana salon, Kenneth hires an assistant – but her minimal knowledge of hairdressing and English leads to an unfortunate accident with her first client. Kenneth also tries to cheer up Gavin, who is missing Troy. At the pool bar, Janice is shocked to see her stalker, Jack (Elliott Jordan), but he pretends not to remember her. Meanwhile, Madge has been kidnapped on her way to the supermarket, which Michael witnessed – but can the Garveys save her in time? Back around the poolside, Sam bets Trudy €20 to act ladylike until midnight – no farting, swearing, burping or violence. Meanwhile, new hotel manager Joyce invites Costa Class Magazine's hotel critic and instructs Mateo to cook an authentic paella for him – but will a snag with the ingredients change the dish altogether? | ||||||||||||

Hazel, the team's strict coach, is not impressed by the facilities, but agrees to Joyce's idea for a gala display in the hotel pool. Liam ends up escorting the girls on a tour along the coast – but was it actually a sightseeing trip? Madge is keen on Mohammed, the son of a wealthy property developer who knew Mel – but Mick and Janice are surprised when they find out that she wants to marry him. Series 7 (2015)
[edit]After the sixth series had aired, ITV confirmed that a seventh series will air in 2015. On 21 March 2014, it was announced that Elsie Kelly, Crissy Rock and Johnny Vegas would return during the series.[2] All main characters from series 6 returned except for Kenny Ireland, Hannah Waddingham and Bel Powley. Filming for the seventh series began on 24 March 2014.[2] Kenny Ireland, who played Donald, wasn't in this series. His character was written out because the actor had developed cancer. He died in July of the same year and the final episode was dedicated to him. All ratings do not include HD as it isn't available for all the episodes.[3] It was also confirmed that the Garveys will leave during series seven.[4] The seven-part seventh series began on ITV on 2 January 2015 at 9 pm and finished on 13 February 2015.[5]

All episodes were written by Derren Litten.[7] On 26 March 2015 it was announced that Series 8 will introduce a new family, the Dawsons. Julie Graham, Steve Edge, Bobby Knutt, Josh Bolt and Honor Kneafsey had been cast as Sheron Dawson, Billy Dawson, Eddie Dawson, Rob Dawson and Jodie Dawson, respectively. Series 8 also introduced Jessica Ellerby and Nathan Bryon as Amber Platt and Joey Ellis. Filming began on 23 March 2015 and ended on 25 June 2015. It began airing on 11 January 2016 and finished on 22 February 2016.[8]

Shelley Longworth makes her return as Sam Wood, after her last appearance in series 5. Adam Gillen returns as a regular, following Liam's return in the series 8 finale. Tim Healy was hospitalised during filming, with Les/Lesley only appearing in the first four episodes.

Series 10 (2018)
[edit]A tenth series was commissioned. Filming began on 13 March 2017 and ended on 12 July 2017. The first episode was directed by David Sant.[11] Derren Litten will make his directorial debut in the final two episodes of the series.[12] The series began airing on 28 February 2018 on ITV at 9 pm, one week after a documentary titled Benidorm: 10 Years on Holiday. This documentary showed cast, past and present, talking about their experience on the show and includes footage of the 10th series being filmed. This documentary aired on the 20 February 2018.
All main cast members from series nine will return, except for Danny Walters, Paul Bazely, Johnny Vegas and Honor Kneafsey. Shane Richie, who last appeared in series 8, will make his return as Sammy Valentino for four episodes. John Challis will become a series regular, after making on-off appearances for the last few series as Monty Staines. Tim Healy will return full-time as transvestite Les Conroy.[13] This series will also feature an array of guest stars including children's TV comedy duo The Chuckle Brothers, legendary comedian Bobby Ball and singers Holly Johnson, Carol Decker and Tony Hadley. Plus another comic duo, Hale and Pace will star as undercover detectives investigating Lesley as well as actors Claire Sweeney as Maxine a snooty holiday rep and Nigel Havers returning as conman dentist Stanley. Young comedy star Layton Williams will also appear in the series in episode 9. Another notable appearance is that of Mark Heap, returning as "Malcolm" the oddball mystery ex of Pauline and Kenneth. It's the day of Monty and Joyce's wedding, but almost from the very beginning, their happiest day seems riddled with everything going wrong in melodramatic style involving Mr Wu's banquet, Sir Henry as the very unwelcome substitute priest, seasickness and an outrageously offensive best man speech from Mateo. As the wedding is in turmoil, Kenneth steps up to the plate and risks his life to save everyone. Elsewhere, Sheron and Billy return to the Solana to enjoy their Silver Wedding anniversary, but fear that bickering Loretta and Eddie, who have for some reason also joined them for the celebrations, will not approve of Rob and his new pal Cyd when they get there. Stanley Keen returns to Blow and Go, planning to set up a dentist's practice, but has to deal with the majority shareholder, Jacqueline. Could some blindsiding ridiculously white teeth persuade the widowed swinger? Plus, acting managaress Sam is roped into Dodgy Dave's rigged raffle scam that doesn't go according to plan at all because of Dave's many crimson coloured children! With Eddie and Loretta awaiting their grandson's arrival, Sheron and Billy learn the terrifying truth when Rob and Cyd finally check in to the Solana. The wedding party are also back at the Solana, but Kenneth is noticeably absent from the crowd having become lost at sea. But there is happy endings all round when Kenneth emerges from the waves with a thrilling tale to tell. However, what will he think of Stanley and all his dental instruments of torture in Blow & Go? Elsewhere, dim-witted regular Joey checks in, but instead of going with Tiger, he has come with his new Irish friend Callum. First appearance of Laila Zaidi as Cyd and Julian Moore-Cook as Callum. Monty is worried about Sammy, but how can he lose 'the fear'? and how can he get Joyce to keep him employed? Kenneth's ongoing romantic troubles with the persistent Vladimir means he needs a wife, in order to get Vladimir to go away. Will Sam oblige? Cyd's dad flies in to meet the Dawson clan, but he has a bombshell in store. Lesley's paranoia grows over Dennis and Nigel, who must go to great measures to take advantage of their free week in the Spanish sun.
