Background and release
[edit]Tiësto declared about the song : "'Light Years Away' is a very beautiful song. It's very pretty. It reminds me a little bit of an old Massive Attack track. It sounds really big and euphoric. I think the vocals are great and also it's very haunty."[2] Pete Kirtley from Dbx affirmed in an interview that the song is about "not giving up, even though the path ahead sometimes seems impossible and unreachable".[3]
Music video
[edit]The music video shows the expedition of a scientist and her white robot on a planet to analyse its composition.[4]
