Leylan District (Persian: بخش لیلان) is a former administrative division of Malekan County, East Azerbaijan province, Iran. Its capital was the city of Leylan.[3]

History

After the 2016 National Census, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Leylan County.[4]

Population

At the time of the 2006 census, the district's population was 23,234 in 5,341 households.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 24,169 people in 6,688 households.[6] The 2016 census measured the population of the district as 25,381 inhabitants in 7,526 households.[2]
