Leslie Ray Adams (born June 18, 1974) is an American politician from Virginia. A member of the Republican Party, Adams succeeded Don Merricks as the member of the Virginia House of Delegates from the 16th district in 2014 and resigned in December 2023, effective the following month, at the end of his term.
Early life
[edit]Leslie Adams was born in Montgomery County, Virginia, in 1974.[1][2] He graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science in 1996 and from the University of Richmond School of Law with a Juris Doctor in 1999.[2]
Career
[edit]Adams was first elected to the Virginia House of Delegates in 2013, representing the 16th district.[3] Despite being elected to represent the newly-drawn 48th district in the state's 2023 Virginia House of Delegates elections, he announced his resignation from the House on December 12, 2023, effective at the end of his current term.[1] He is a member of the privileges and elections committee and the commerce and energy committee.[2]
Adams is an attorney.[1]
Personal life
[edit]Adams married Melanie Evonne Schiefer. They have two sons. He lives in Chatham, Virginia.[1][2] He is a Baptist.[2]
