Leonardo Williams is an American restaurateur and politician, currently the Mayor of Durham, North Carolina after winning the 2023 Durham mayoral election.[1][2] Williams and his wife Zweli opened Zweli's in 2018, a Zimbabwean restaurant in Durham. The couple later opened Ekhaya in the American Tobacco Campus in 2022, serving Bantu-inspired tapas.[3] Williams also served as a member of Durham's city council for Ward 3.[4][5] Williams was sworn in as mayor on December 4, 2023.[6]
