Last Epoch is a time-travel themed, loot-based hack and slash action role-playing game developed and published by Eleventh Hour Games (EHG) available on Steam.

Description

[edit]

Uncover the Past, Reforge the Future. Ascend into one of 15 mastery classes and explore dangerous dungeons, hunt epic loot, craft legendary weapons, and wield the power of over a hundred transformative skill trees.

Last Epoch is developed by a dedicated team of Action RPG enthusiasts who originally connected on Reddit, united by their passion for the genre. Together with the very community that inspired them, they founded their own studio to craft what they hope will become 'The Next Great ARPG'.

Gameplay & Systems

[edit]

15 Unique Mastery Classes

Over 120 Skills - Each With Their Own Skill Tree

[edit]

Every skill has its own augment tree that allows you to control, alter, and empower your playstyle. Evolve your Skeletal Warriors into stealthy assassins or dead-eye archers; transform your classic Fireball into an unrelenting flamethrower or a heat-seeking pyro-bomb; change your trusty Javelin into a devastating lightning storm or take a defensive approach with a holy battle standard of protection for you and your allies.

Journey Through Time

[edit]

Your adventure transcends time when a mysterious force sends you into a ruined future. Only by uncovering the secrets of the past will you be able to reforge the future and save the world of Eterra from the Void.

Loot & Crafting

[edit]

Fill your arsenal with magic items that you can craft to perfection, change the rules of your build with powerful unique and set items, and know that next upgrade just on the horizon with Last Epoch's deep and randomized loot system. Last Epoch's community-revered crafting system features robust and deterministic upgrade mechanics, allowing you to control your character's power progression.

Endgame - Endless Replayability

[edit]

Your journey through time is endless, and your potential is unbound.

  • Explore the Monolith of Fate and challenge powerful endgame bosses.
  • Battle never-ending waves of enemies in the Arena to become the ladder champion.
  • Explore multiple endgame Dungeons that will test your build and your resolve, with the promise of incredible rewards — if you survive.

Challenge Modes
[edit]

Choose how you want to play - Hardcore for the thrill of permanent death, Solo Self-Found for the rugged individualist. More Challenge Modes are coming soon.

Multiplayer

[edit]

Team up with other players or go offline and rely on your strength alone. A lone wolf can conquer the dangers in Eterra, but a party of travelers is a force to be reckoned with.

Seasons | Cycles

[edit]

Constant evolution. Each Cycle comes with original content, reset leaderboards, and a new economy - the perfect opportunity to adventure with a fresh start.

Leaderboards

[edit]

Ascend the ranks of the leaderboards. Compare your growth to that of players above and below you and see just how much further you need to climb to reach the top.

Setting

[edit]

The game is set in the world of Eterra across several timelines.[1] Spanning from the Ancient Era, Divine Era, Imperial Era, and Ruined Era.

Ancient Era - 6020 BE

Before gods, before empires and ruin, was a land of pristine wild. From her temple above the sky Eterra sculpts the world below in preparation of its fate.

Divine Era -12 BE

The time of warring gods and rival nations. As Rahyeh stokes the flames of conquest, his divine siblings shake the world in response.

Imperial Era- 1005 AG

The rule of the undead is absolute in the final days of the Immortal Empire while the living maintains a desperate resistance.

Ruined Era - 1290 AG

An era beyond hope where the Void has left nothing but ruin and madness. The last vestiges of humanity huddle in the Last Refuge, praying for salvation.

Studio

[edit]

Eleventh Hour Games is an independent development studio focused on creating the next great action RPG. From humble beginnings, Eleventh Hour Games lead by founder and CEO, Judd Cobler, set out to assemble a team of ARPG enthusiasts, building a strong core remote team located across the globe. It then brought a vertical slice of Last Epoch to Kickstarter in April of 2018, and raised $255,000 securing the future development of Last Epoch. Since releasing via Steam Early Access in 2019, the team, scope and quality of Last Epoch has continued to grow significantly, ahead of the full 1.0 release on February 21, 2024.

Last Epoch combines a time travel narrative, exciting dungeon crawling, engrossing character customization and endless replayability to create an action RPG for veterans and newcomers alike.
