Lara Mendoça is a product designer born in Brazil in 1991. [1]
Education
[edit]Mendoça studied at the Escola Nacional de Belas Artes for Visual Communication Design, but failed to get a degree.[2] As of 2018, she was working on getting a Master's degree from the London College of Communication in User Experience.[2]
Career
[edit]Mendoça was part of design for multiple Social media and broadcasting companies, including Sky UK, dating app Bumble from September 2019,[3] and Twitter from June 14, 2021.[1][4] As head of design for Bumble, she designed a feature for that allows bad actors to be reported after communication has stopped.[1][3] She also led her team in making improvements to both the user experience of the app, and the privacy of the user's data.[1][3] She specializes in using design to promote inclusive, safe, and healthy interactions using her personal experiences as a queer immigrant.[1][3][5]
