The Rural Municipality of Lacadena No. 228 (2016 population: 535) is a rural municipality (RM) in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan within Census Division No. 8 and SARM Division No. 3.

History

The RM of Lacadena No. 228 incorporated as a rural municipality on December 12, 1910.[2]

In the 2021 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, the RM of Lacadena No. 228 had a population of 787 living in 290 of its 613 total private dwellings, a change of 47.1% from its 2016 population of 535. With a land area of 1,896.92 km2 (732.40 sq mi), it had a population density of 0.4/km2 (1.1/sq mi) in 2021.[7]

In the 2016 Census of Population, the RM of Lacadena No. 228 recorded a population of 535 living in 244 of its 553 total private dwellings, a -6.5% change from its 2011 population of 572. With a land area of 1,895.97 km2 (732.04 sq mi), it had a population density of 0.3/km2 (0.7/sq mi) in 2016.[4]

The RM of Lacadena No. 228 is governed by an elected municipal council and an appointed administrator that meets on the first Tuesday of every month.[3] The reeve of the RM is Bradley Sander while its administrator is Yvonne Nelson.[3] The RM's office is located in Kyle.[3]
