Kontakt.io is a New York based SaaS provider company that works on beacon technology and provides an artificial intelligence (AI), real-time locating system (RTLS) and indoor internet of things (IoT) solutions.[1][2]

Kontakt.io was founded in 2014 by Philipp von Gilsa, Szymon Niemczura, Rafal Janicki, Tomasz Kolek, and Tomasz Koźmiński to build an indoor navigation system for the blind by using Beacon technology.[3][4]

Kontakt.io helps hospitals optimize operations, increase staff safety and improve patient care with the following solutions: medical equipment tracking & management; wheelchair tracking; bed management; emergency staff duress; staff journey analytics; hand hygiene compliance; transportation management; patient flow & elopement; indoor navigation and environmental monitoring.[5][6]

In April 2023, it secured a investment of $47.5 million in series C funding led by Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Asset Management.[1][7]

Kontakt.io was recognized as a Challenger in the 2024 Gartner Magic Quadrant™ report and ranked by the Healthcare Technology Report’s Top 100 Healthcare Technology Companies of 2024.[8]

In 2014, Kontakt.io launched products with Beacon technology helps businesses track and engage with customers in-store.[9] In the same month, Sunstone Capital closed a $2 Million investment followed by $5 Million in funding in 2016.[10][11]
