Kaye Tuckerman

Kaye Tuckerman is an Australian actress, singer, director, producer, and designer. Known for her versatility in musical theatre, film, and cabaret, she gained recognition for her role as Donna Sheridan in the Broadway National Tour of Mamma Mia!.[1] [2] [3]

Early life and education

Tuckerman was born and raised in Allambie Heights, Sydney, Australia.[4] She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theatre from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Directing from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA).[5]

Career

Tuckerman is best known for her portrayal of Donna Sheridan in the Broadway National Tour of Mamma Mia! (2010–2012).[6][7] She also played lead roles in Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 (Broadway Asia, 2024), Wicked (2019), and Summer: The Donna Summer Musical (2018).[8] Her credits also include roles in productions of Les Misérables, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story.[9] In cabaret, Tuckerman's performances have been noted for their captivating energy.[10] In film, Tuckerman served as a body double for Carrie-Anne Moss in The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions.[11] She starred in The Girl Who Got Away (2021), which was well-received for its intense narrative.[12] As a filmmaker, she directed Entanglement (2022), a documentary exploring women's experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic.[13] Tuckerman’s design work on From a Whisper (2008) earned her an African Academy Award nomination.[14]
