'''Kaniz Ali''' (born July 1985, in [[Bangladesh]]) is an international makeup artist and a freelance beauty columnist. Specializing in all aspects of make up including bridal, editorial, commercial and fashion, she is the founder and director of Kanizmakeup and the Kanizmakeup Training Academy.

She can communicate in several languages including her mother tongue, [[Bengali language|Bengali]] as well as [[Standard Hindi|Hindi]], [[Urdu]], [[French language|French]] and [[English language|English]].

==Early life==

Although born in Bangladesh, her parents moved to London shortly after her birth, and she has lived in West London for most of her life. At the age of 13 Kaniz won a writing competition. The publishing house was so impressed that they had her poem published in a children's anthology.

She then went onto achieving high grades during her GCSEs and A Levels.

She planned on becoming a lawyer but gave that up to follow her true passion which was in make up, after being approached by a small publication who noticed her talent. During the same time she was also approached by [[Fenchurch (clothing)|Fenchurch Clothing]] to work with them on their new collection shoot. Since then her career has gone from strength to strength.

Kaniz has also worked with ''MAC Cosmetics and Giorgio Armani Cosmetics.''

==Make Up career==

Soon after Kaniz started her career as a make up artist her career went from strength to strength. Her expertise and professionalism had earned her numerous high profile projects fronting both European and South Asian Campaigns.

From the age of 22 whilst working at the law firm she was booked as Head Make Up Artist for ''Producer/Artist Rishi Rich and H Dhami'' on both of their single music tracks Mitraan Di Jaan & Har Gabroo. She was then flown out to [[Saint-Tropez]], South of France, booked for a fashion shoot which later featured in ''Asian Woman Magazine.'' At that time she was working very closely with the production team X1X who took her on to work on all their in-house make up projects.

After leaving the law firm she went on to work closely with various publications and her work has featured in numerous magazines some of which include Asiana, Asiana Wedding, Asian Woman, Asian Bride, Fanfair, Asian Wedding Directory, Remedy, Shout, Eastern Eye Paper, The Muslim Paper, and London Bangla.<ref name=shout/>

In October 2007 she worked on a Look Book with Fenchurch Clothing.

In November 2008, she was shortlisted for "The Best Make Up Artist Award", at The Asian Style Awards.<ref name=shout/>

In April 2009 she was interviewed by "Start Your Business Magazine", who wrote a 6 page feature on her and her acheivements within a short space of time.

In January 2010 "The Vibe Show" which aired on asian channel B4U based a whole episode on Kaniz and her work.

In March 2010 Kaniz was interviewed by ''The London Bangla'' paper and also ''The Muslim Paper''<ref name=tmp/> as well as being given her own beauty column in Fanfair Magazine.

In October 2010 she was interviewed by ''Shout Bahrain'' magazine.<ref name=shout/>

In November 2010, Kaniz and her team lead the backstage hair and make up for The Asian Lifestyle Exhibition which took place in Birmingham.

She has also had the opportunities to work with Face of Sleek make up model Emily Moore, supermodel Mehreen Syed, Indian actress Ashwariya Rai, actors Nitin Ganatra, Jan Uddin, Vivek Oberoi, Anumpan Kher and Om Puri and many others.

==Training Academy and Makeup Team==

Kaniz established a ''Training Academy'' in May 2009, following a number of requests from clients to learn tips and techniques from her. She now holds regular practical workshops throughout the year, and also teaches intense make-up, fashion and bridal courses.<ref name=tmp/>

In May 2010 she decided to build up a team of make-up artists, which is called the ''Kanizmakeup Team''. This gives opportunities to new artists to build up their portfolios and work alongside her on mainstream high fashion catwalks and shows. Due to her busy schedule the team now look after some of her projects. She also has an in house team of models and photographer who work for her.

==Kaniz - The Restaurant==

Classed as a Business Woman quoted by ''The Muslim'' paper, Kaniz has invested in a restaurant which is due to open in April 2011, the restaurant will specialize in Indian food and the location is on the Bath Road near Heathrow. Kaniz still continues on with her passion and work in make up as well as invests into other side projects.
