KFF Kamza were an Albanian women's professional football club based in Kamëz. They last competed in Kategoria Superiore Femra during the 2013–14 season, finishing ninth, in a ten-team league.[1]
History
[edit]On August 25, 2010, Kamza established a women's team, led by Gëzim Doda, a respected figure in the medical field with a deep passion for the game of football. Doda's initiative was supported by former players Artan Xhaferri, Altin Bakollari, Xheudet Shahini, businessman Dritan Jazexhi and Catholic priest, Father Gjergji Meta.
The introduction of a women's team was met with surprise and indifference from the local government and community as a whole, who did not view it as a serious endeavor. The team received no backing from the men's team, which was enjoying its own “golden era”.
Though Kamza did not compete in the first two national championships, they participated in numerous friendlies and tournaments. Competing against established teams like Tirana AS, Juban Danja, and Ada — with rosters bolstered by skilled players from Kosovo, Kamza's performances were modest but promising. The young team celebrated notable success, such as winning the Independence Cup and Play for Peace tournaments with players as young as 14. They also took part in a unique event at Nehemia High School in Buçimas, Pogradec, supported by Adidas Sport Albania.
Kamza officially entered the 2011–12 women's national championship, marking the third season in the history of women's football in the country. Their debut on October 15, 2011, against Tirana AS, ended in a heavy defeat, and the team ultimately finished seventh in the league standings with nine points. However, the following year saw the team withdraw due to internal conflicts and staff disagreements, prompting several players to join other clubs, particularly Dardania Sport.[2]
