Johnny Walker Jr. is an American football defensive end for the Missouri Tigers.
Early life and high school
[edit]Walker attended George D. Chamberlain High School in Tampa, Florida. He was rated as a three-star recruit and committed to play college football for the Missouri Tigers.[1][2]
College career
[edit]Walker took a redshirt season in 2020.[3] In the 2023 season opener, he tallied six tackles with one and a half being for a loss, and a sack versus South Dakota.[4] In the 2023 Cotton Bowl Classic, Walker notched two tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble, as he helped the Tigers defeat Ohio State, earning the game's defensive MVP award.[5] During his first three collegiate seasons from 2021 to 2023, he appeared in 27 games where he totaled 59 tackles with 14 being for a loss, nine sacks, and three forced fumbles.[6] In week 9 of the 2024 season, Walker totaled four tackles with two being for a loss, and two sacks against Alabama.[7] For his performance during the 2024 season, he was named second-team all-SEC.[8]
