John Turpin is a male former boxer who competed for England.
He started his career as a coal miner and went on to work for BT as a telephone engineer.
A father to Julie, Jayne and Jonathan.
A Grandfather to Oliver, Alex, Robert, Abbey, Jacob, Charlotte & Henry
Boxing career
[edit]He represented England and won a bronze medal in the 75 kg middleweight, at the 1966 British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Kingston, Jamaica.[1][2][3]
He was a member of the Rothwell Colliery ABC and was 1966 Light Welterweight ABA champion runner-up.[4]
