John McGregor Cole (3 March 1933 – 25 May 2014) was a South African cricketer. He played first-class cricket for Natal and Western Province between 1959 and 1967.[1]

An accurate right-arm medium-pace bowler, Cole formed a strong pace trio with Neil Adcock and Clive Halse when Natal won the Currie Cup in 1960–61. Cole took 35 wickets at an average of 12.37 and was chosen as one of the South African Cricket Annual Cricketers of the Year in 1961.[2][3] In the defeat of North Eastern Transvaal he took 4 for 14 and 6 for 34.[4]

Cole had his best innings bowling figures three seasons later when he took 6 for 16 in Natal's victory over Western Province.[5] When Natal dismissed Border for the world-record low match scores of 16 and 18 in 1959–60, Cole had match figures of 20–12–17–7.[6]
