Joe Royer is an American football tight end for the Cincinnati Bearcats. He previously played for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Early life and high school
[edit]Royer attended Elder High School located in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was rated as a three-star recruit and held offers from schools such as Arizona State, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, and Wisconsin.[1] Ultimately, Royer committed to play college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes.[2]
College career

[edit]Royer was redshirted during his freshman season in 2020. During Royer's three-year career at Ohio State from 2021 to 2023, he appeared in 14 games for the Buckeyes where he hauled in four receptions for 24 yards.[3][4][5] After the 2023 season, Royer entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal.[6]
Cincinnati
[edit]Royer transferred to play for the Cincinnati Bearcats.[7] In the 2024 season opener, he hauled in receptions for 89 yards in a win over Towson. In week four, Royer hauled in three receptions for 41 yards in a win over Houston.[8]
