Jacob Maniti (born 7 September 2002) is a Filipino Professional football player who currently plays for Blacktown City in the National Premier Leagues NSW. Born in Australia, he represents the Philippines at youth level.

Career

Born in Western Sydney to parents of Filipino and El Savador heritage[1] he was signed to the academy of A-League Men club Melbourne Victory, following strong performances as a young player in local district competitions.[2]

Maniti would travel to the Philippines and represent the Azkals Development Team in the Philippines Football League, where his first goal would be a penalty against Maharlika Taguig, which rescued the Azkals a 1–1 draw.[3]

Following a short term move to Hobro IK,[4] Maniti returned to Australia and re-signed with Blacktown City in the NPL1 for the 2024 National Premier Leagues NSW season.[5]

Honours

In 2015, Jacob represented Mt Druitt town Rangers FC and won the grand championship 1-0 against Marconi Stallions Fc ( his former club in u12s)

In 2017, He would captain Mt Druitt Town Rangers FC in NPL1 to win the premier youth league 1 in u15s premiership finishing first on top of Sydney FC

That year he was scouted by Matthew Mc Namarra to head down to Melbourne Victory Fc where he would signed with the academy youth squad in 2018 to 2020

In 2018 he would win the premiership with u18s Victorian Premier League and also win the coveted award as the Coaches player of the year for Melbourne Victory FC academy team with Jeff Hopkins as the manager .

Also that season Jacob won the Victorian School of Sports knockout competition with Maribyrnong Sports College . Jacob attended year 7 to year 9 at Westfields Sports High School in Sydney making the grand final of the Bill Turner Cup in 2017 before going to Maribyrnong Sports College in Melbourne

in 2019 - he would also be part of the u20s MVFC winning premiership team in Victorian Premier league Two tier

before returning back to Sydney to join Blacktown City U20s to win the National Premier League 1 FNSW Covid affected tournament

He would return back to Melbourne Victory for 2020 to play First grade in NPL in Victoria but Covid shut the borders and second lockdown abandoned the tournament .

He would come back to Sydney to join MacArthur Bulls FC in NPL in Football NSW competition before getting a contract with Azkals Developmemt Team to play professional football in Manila Philippines . He then signed with Holbro IK in 2022/23 season in Denmark .

Before heading back to Sydney again this current season in 2024 with Blacktown City FC in first grade men’s team. This current season he played in the round of 32 Australia Cup Va Adelaide united Fc ( A-League team ) just going down 3-2 in extra time. In this season of 2014 Premier League 1 with Blacktown City Fc in FNSW competition. He played in the Major Preliminary Final Vs Marconi Stallioms FC. It’s been a good season for him under Mark Crittenden leadership and was consistent in supporting his teammates.


International career

Due to his heritage, Maniti is eligible to represent Australia, El Salvador and the Philippines. He was called up to the ASEAN U-19 Boys Championship while with the Melbourne Victory academy.[6]

Maniti was called up to the Philippines U-23s for the 2022 AFF U-23 Championship.[7]

Personal life

Maniti is the brother of Philippines women's national football team player Chantelle Maniti[8] and Philippines national under-16 football team player Michael Maniti.
