Three days after graduating from college, Niemann booked a Swing role in the Broadway production of The Book of Mormon, covering all seven ensemble tracks.[3] He made his debut in July 2017.[4] Neimann remained with the production full-time until December 2019.[5] He has returned as a vacation and emergency swing to the show periodically since leaving the company.[6]

In 2023, Niemann performed in the ensemble of the Paper Mill Playhouse production of Hercules.[7] Later that year, Niemann joined the Original Broadway Cast of Back to the Future.[8] He is an ensemble member and the understudy for both Marty McFly and George McFly.
