Collaborations and Partnerships

[edit]

Innovative Centre Partnerships and Collaborations

The Innovative Centre has formed partnerships with both domestic and international institutions. A partnership[3] has been formed with Cambridge English Language Assessment, integrating Cambridge English exams into the curriculum, specifically at the Tashkent Medical Academy.[4] This collaboration is part of a broader effort to align the Centre’s educational offerings with global standards.

Regional Conferences and International Engagements

The Centre has organized regional conferences in Samarkand,[5] which have included participation from international experts. These conferences have featured contributions from global experts and Nobel laureates, focusing on educational innovation and advancements in language teaching methodologies. The events have included a series of workshops, master classes, and discussions, providing a platform for knowledge exchange and the dissemination of best practices in education.

Community-Focused Educational Initiatives

In addition to its academic collaborations, the Centre has initiated several community-oriented educational programs. Among these is the provision of free language education to students listed in the "Youth Notebook" program,[6] an initiative designed to support underprivileged students by enhancing their foreign language skills. This program is part of a larger regional effort to improve foreign language education and accessibility.

Teacher Training and Mobile Groups

The Centre has also introduced mobile groups[7] aimed at improving the skills of foreign language teachers in the region. These groups offer on-site training and support to educators, contributing to the improvement of language instruction. This initiative underscores the Centre’s commitment to advancing teacher training as a means of achieving long-term educational improvements.

Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and Educational Exchanges

The Centre has formalized its collaborations through Memorandums of Understanding[8] (MoUs) with various institutions, including the Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS) in Tashkent. These agreements facilitate educational exchanges and collaborative academic efforts, fostering a shared commitment to educational excellence. The outcomes of these partnerships have included joint projects, faculty exchanges, and the development of new academic programs.

Impact and Achievements

[edit]

In addition to its core educational programs, the Innovative Centre has played an active role in hosting and organizing events aimed at enhancing language education. For instance, on the 25th of February 2020, the centre was involved in a conference[9] organized by Cambridge English, specifically tailored for partner centers, institutions, and educators. This event focused on sharing best practices in English language teaching and assessment, highlighting the centre's commitment to professional development and educational collaboration.

The centre has also been recognized for its involvement in innovative educational projects. A notable example is the development of a language learning platform[10] by students from the centre, which was valued at €50,000 by European experts. This platform has been designed to enhance language education through the use of technology.

Furthermore, the Innovative Centre has positioned itself as a research hub,[6] conducting studies in various areas of education. This research activity has further established the centre's role in advancing educational practices in Uzbekistan.

Facilities

[edit]

The Innovative Centre in Samarkand is developing a "smart library[11]" as part of an initiative to provide educational resources to young people, supported by a 300,000-euro investment. According to Muhammadjon Soliyev, head of the regional branch of the Agency for Popularizing Foreign Languages under the Cabinet of Ministers, this library will be equipped with the latest educational materials, smart resources, and electronic media. The facility will offer over 20,000 books and digital programs, with modern computers for accessing electronic resources. The library aims to serve more than 40,000 people annually, providing opportunities for learning not only English but also mathematics and IT. The project also involves collaboration with international partners, including well-known publishers, to ensure the library meets global standards.
