[edit]I'm done here, but the notes could use some work. Anyone interested? Peter238 (talk) 02:11, 17 December 2015 (UTC)

Phonemic transcriptions of Luxembourgish on Wiktionary
[edit]Hello. I've just written to this editor on Wiktionary. Could you (e.g. @Aeusoes1 and Nardog:) join the discussion? I feel that more can be done to explain various aspects of phonemic transcription. Kbb2 (ex. Mr KEBAB) (talk) 17:45, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
Change /əɪ/ to /ɜɪ/
[edit]Hi all, here is an issue that I noticed: The help page follows Gilles & Trouvain (2013) in each and every detail (which is good) – except for one: The sound written éi (as in fréi, schéin, Schnéi) is transcribed /əɪ/ instead of /ɜɪ/. /əɪ/ is mentioned as a “frequent variant” in the paper, but there is still no obvious reason to use that transcription rather than /ɜɪ/. The transcription /ɜɪ/ is also used in LOD, the Luxembourgish Online Dictionary. If nobody objects, I will change the transcription to /ɜɪ/ on the help page. There are fewer than 200 pages with transcriptions in Luxembourgish, so I am happy to check and edit them as well, if necessary. Isoglosse (talk) 10:50, 16 February 2025 (UTC)
