Haensch's whorltail iguana (Stenocercus haenschi) is a species of lizard in the family Tropiduridae. The species is native to Ecuador.[2]

Geographic range

S. haenschi is endemic to Bolívar Province of Ecuador, where it is only known from one locality.[1]

Habitat

The preferred natural habitat of S. haenschi is forest.[1]

Behavior

S. haenschi is arboreal.[1]

Conservation status

S. haenschi is considered to be critically endangered and possibly extinct.[1]

Etymology

S. haenschi is named in honor of German entomologist Richard Haensch.[2][3]
