Guruprasad (2 November 1972 – October 2024) was an Indian film director and actor in the Kannada film industry. His debut as a director was the 2006 film Mata which became a cult hit and his second film as a director is Eddelu Manjunatha.[1] Both films did receive positive reviews and were considered for many award categories. He was known for portraying satire in a realistic way on screen.[2]
On the basis of partially decomposed status of his corpse found, it can be estimated that Guruprasad must have had died by suicide in the end of October 2024 by hanging at his flat in Madanayakanahalli, Bangalore. His body was found on 3 November.[3][4][5][6][7]
