Glorb (also known as GlorbWorldwide) is the pseudonym of an anonymous YouTuber who specializes in rap music using AI-generated voices of characters from the animated series SpongeBob SquarePants.[2][3][4]
Career
[edit]Glorb is pseudonymous. In an interview with Moist Cr1TiKaL, Glorb claimed to have been leaving small hints in their music about their identity.[5]
The first Glorb song, "The Formula", was released on June 3, 2023.[6][better source needed] Glorb began posting music videos to their YouTube channel starting on July 6, 2023, with "The Bottom (Official Music Video)"[7] Glorb has continued to release music videos and songs.
Glorb's songs involve characters from the show SpongeBob SquarePants. Every character has been renamed to fit a gangster aesthetic and to avoid copyright issues. SpongeBob is Spongeopp (as in opposition), Patrick is The Notorious P.A.T. (a reference to The Notorious B.I.G.), Mr. Krabs is Mr. Swags (as in swagger), Sandy Cheeks is Sandy Thee Squirrel (a reference to Megan Thee Stallion), Squidward is Squidwock (a reference to Wockhardt cough syrup, which contains the opiate codeine, hence the term 'wock' often being used to refer to lean), Plankton is Dankton, Ms. Puff is shortened to just Puff, and Larry the Lobster is A$AP Larry (a reference to A$AP ROCKY). The only character who kept their original name is Karen, due to a lack of copyright. Each song adds to a story about a gang rivalry between Dankton's Chum Bucket and Mr. Swags' Krusty Krab Krew.[citation needed]
